Indiegogo fulfillment, including the part after the campaign
Indiegogo is not Kickstarter with a different logo. Flexible funding can leave you shipping a run you did not fully fund, InDemand keeps selling long after the campaign closes, and there is no first-party pledge manager to tidy the backer data. Each one changes how the shipment has to be planned.
Four things Indiegogo does that change the shipment
Every one of these is a place where a plan built for Kickstarter quietly stops fitting.
Flexible funding means the shipment is not a fixed shape
A fixed-funding campaign either hits its number or it does not, and you know what you are shipping. Flexible funding keeps whatever it raises, which means you can end up committed to a production run priced for a volume you did not reach. We scope both cases before the campaign closes, so an underfunded flexible campaign is a decision you make rather than a discovery.
InDemand turns one wave into an open storefront
Kickstarter fulfillment is a wave: everything ships, then it is over. Indiegogo's InDemand keeps selling after the campaign ends, so the same stock has to serve a bulk backer wave and an ongoing trickle of retail orders. That is a warehousing problem, not a one-off packing problem, and it is the single biggest reason Indiegogo fulfillment is not just Kickstarter fulfillment with the logo swapped.
There is no first-party pledge manager
Backer data comes out of Indiegogo as an export, and most creators bolt on a separate pledge manager to collect addresses, sell add-ons and take shipping payment. We work from either the raw export or the pledge manager, but the reconciliation work is real, and it is better done before labels print than after.
Perks are not reward tiers
The vocabulary differs and so does the behavior. Indiegogo perks are edited and added mid-campaign more often, which quietly multiplies the number of distinct physical packs you have to build. We track the pack list as it changes rather than freezing it at launch and hoping.
From funding to the last InDemand order
The people who priced the perks are the people who pack them
Most crowdfunding agencies hand you off once the campaign funds. Most fulfillment companies meet you for the first time after it has. We do both, out of our own warehouses, and if the product is not made yet we find and vet the factory as well.
Frequently asked
Is Indiegogo fulfillment different from Kickstarter fulfillment?
Operationally, yes, in several ways: flexible funding can leave you shipping a run you did not fully fund, InDemand keeps selling after the campaign so the stock has a second life as retail inventory, and there is no first-party pledge manager, so address and add-on data arrives in whatever shape your chosen tool produces.
Do you handle InDemand orders after the campaign?
Yes. Your stock stays with us and the orders ship as they come, the same way any ecommerce inventory would. It is usually the difference between InDemand being a real revenue stream and being a fulfillment headache you abandon.
Which pledge managers do you work with?
BackerKit and the other common ones, or the raw Indiegogo export if you would rather not add a tool. Send us a sample export and we will tell you exactly what we need and what is missing.
Do I need to have used you for sourcing?
No. A lot of creators come to us for fulfillment only, with product already made by someone else. We will collect it, import it and ship it.
How are international backers handled?
We ship internationally from the US facilities. On larger campaigns it is worth discussing a regional split so overseas backers are not hit with postage and import charges that cost more than the perk.
What does it cost?
It depends on weight, dimensions, how many distinct perks you ended up with, and the international share, which is exactly why we scope it before your campaign ends. Send the specifics and you get a real figure, not a range.
Can you run the campaign too?
Yes. We run Indiegogo and Kickstarter campaigns end to end, which means the people who set your perk pricing are the people who later pack it. Most fulfillment providers cannot say that and most campaign agencies stop at the finish line.
Scope it before the campaign closes
Send the perk list, the rough backer count and where you expect them to be. The earlier we see it, the more useful the number, and the smaller the chance fulfillment eats the raise.
- Flexible funding? We will scope the underfunded case as well.
- Planning InDemand? Say so, because it changes the stock plan.
- Already funded? Still workable, and very common.
Tell us about the campaign
Including whether you're planning InDemand, because that changes the fulfillment shape entirely.
